Mercer is home to two rowing clubs and the award-winning Mercer Cheese shop, as well as the newly opened Mercer Landing - Kitchen & Bar, located next door to the Motel
Just 5 km south of Pokeno on SH1 it is the gateway to Pukekawa, Onewhero and Glen Murray providing the scenic route to Port Waikato and Nikau Caves at Waikaretu.
The Mercer Service Centre offers Mobil to refuel, McDonald’s drive-through or eat in, Pokeno Bacon and Esquires Coffee shops, and fish & chips at Ponchello’s, or pub grub at the Muddy Waters Tavern.

Each room has its own super king bed that can be split for twin accommodation, plus an ensuite and kitchenette.
If you’re travelling in a group, then we have interconnecting studio units which join onto a bunk room that can sleep an additional three guests.
Located right next to the motel on a grass section we have motorhome berths with power and tent sites available. There are also three sleep-out cabins available for larger groups.

Do you have a room with wheelchair access?
Yes, our ground floor rooms are all wheelchair accessible.
Do you have two seperate beds in the units?
The standard bed configuration is Super-King, however, we can split the Super-King into Twins at an additional cost.
Do all your rooms have an ensuite?
Yes, except for the interconnecting room which has to be booked in conjunction with another room.
Do you have family rooms?
Yes, we have an ensuite room with a kitchenette, and the ability to book an adjacent interconnecting room for larger groups. The interconnecting room does not have a toilet or kitchenette, all facilities are shared with the main bedroom.
Can you put an extra bed in the unit?
Unfortunately, we cannot put extra beds in the units, but we do have Interconnecting Units for larger groups.
Do you have a sleeper couch or ability for a third person to stay in one room?
Unfortunately we can't do that at the moment, but we do have Interconnecting Units for larger groups.
Do you have pots and pans in the room for cooking?
Our rooms have an electric frying pan, rice cooker, microwave and toaster for basic cooking facilities.
